Vienna, Austria — In celebration of National Arts Month, observed throughout February in the Philippines, the Philippine Embassy in Vienna hosted a special art exhibition featuring the works of the Members of the Filipino Visual Artists in Austria (FVAA). The exhibition ran from 25 to 27 February 2026 at the Philippine Embassy Office, Ares Tower, Donau-City-Straße, 1220 Vienna, with the official opening held on 25 February at 18:00 hours.
The event highlighted the creativity, talent, and cultural contributions of Filipino artists living in Austria. It also underscored the Embassy’s commitment to promoting Philippine arts, culture, and heritage—both within the Filipino community and among the broader Austrian public.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Gerry de Guzman, President of the Filipino Visual Artists in Austria, expressed gratitude to the Embassy for its continued support.
He shared: “To the FVAA, thank you for holding your exhibit here again with us. It is the role of the Philippine Embassy to provide a venue for expression of Filipino identity.”
The Ambassador likewise conveyed her appreciation for the FVAA’s dedication to nurturing artistic talent and strengthening cultural ties.
She remarked: “I thank the FVAA for their role in mentoring and educating the next generation of artists. We are happy that we continue with this tradition during the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Austria. We are very proud of our Austrian-Filipino community. We are very thankful for how you have lifted our profile and the respect that people have for Filipinos.”
The exhibition served not only as a platform for artistic expression but also as a celebration of the vibrant cultural identity shared by Filipinos in Austria. It reaffirmed the Embassy’s ongoing efforts to support community initiatives that enrich cultural understanding and strengthen people-to-people connections.
